Are you looking for a fun way to spend a day at the beach? Those staying in hotels near Will Rogers State Beach can enjoy the spirit of Holi at Holi on the Beach 2013 on March 2013. You can support the cause of India’s development AID-Los Angeles/Orange County at the 6th celebration with over 1000 attendees.
Los Angeles’ favorite DJ Sukh will spin the best of Bollywood and Bhangra beats all afternoon. There will be color, refreshments and games. Discounted $2 parking is available for the first 150 cars to enter. Holi is celebrated by people throwing colored powder, known as Gulal and water at each other to benefit the cause of India’s development. The Holi festival is a popular and fun occasion celebrated in Northern India in early March each year.
Holi on the Beach is sponsored by the Association for India’s Development, a non-profit organization. All funds raised will be used to support grass roots level development projects in India. The Los Angeles chapter was formed in July 2005 by working professionals and students who share the vision and aspiration of AID volunteers. There are 37 chapters in the U.S, 11 in India and one each in the Netherlands, Australia, Canada and Oman.
Tickets are $10 before March 22. Groups of 6 or more can pay $6 per ticket. Ticket prices at the door are $15 with a $3 discount for students with a student ID. Kids under 8 years old can attend for free. Tickets include colors and refreshments. You can buy tickets online here before March 22 with some fees.
