If so, you can celebrate the season at the Santa Monica Playhouse. “Abuelita’s Christmas Carol” is a nostalgic and heartwarming holiday tale and you can bring in the New Year at “The Annual All-New One-Time Only New Year’s Eve Revue.” There will be two performances on December 31.
Abuelita’s Christmas Carol, December 15-16
Rosa is a 70 year old abuelita (grandmother) who hosts a cooking show who begins to question her life as the holiday season approaches. She takes a journey through her past to realize how she has made a difference in the world. There will be three performances total: two in English at 2pm and 4pm on December 15 and one at 4pm on December 16. General admission tickets are $12.50 and $10.50 for kids 13 years old and under. The Annual All-New One-Time Only New Year’s Eve Revue, December 31
The Playhouse will be ushering 2013 along with the Part Three festivities of its 50th anniversary celebration. Come for an evening of audience favorite songs, dances, comedy and other delights from five decades of productions. Music selection ranges from jazz to country rock, Jewish songs to romantic ballads. Each performance includes a complimentary buffet supper, champagne, favors, hats and the chance to win prizes. The 6pm show is a chance to celebrate with the entire family and then get home for the countdown. The 9:30pm show offers an opportunity to celebrate the New Year in the theatre will members of the Santa Monica Playhouse Actors’ Repertory Theatre. Tickets to the show are $40 for the 6pm performance and $50 for the 9:30pm performance. Discounts are available for children, students, teachers, military, seniors and groups over 10.
