Summer is officially here, and for a city close to Tinseltown, that means it’s the season of outdoor movies. With beautiful coastal weather, Santa Monica is the ideal place to unwind to a good flick underneath the stars. If you’re staying in a Santa Monica beach hotel, this is a perfect way to spend a romantic night with your partner! There are several outdoor movie options in Santa Monica throughout July, so read below for the details.
June 23 – “The Big Lebowski” is screening for $10 at 8:30pm. This weekend’s edition of Eat See Hear is at the Memorial Greek Theater at Santa Monica High School! Doors open at 5:30pm, with band George Glass at 7pm. Food trucks Fatburger, Brats Berlin, Jose O’Malley’s, Chunk-N-Chip Cookies, Mandoline Grill and M.O.E. will b selling food before the screening. Parking is available at the Civic Center parking lot across the street or street parking. Please enter through the walkway on 4th Street between the track and the DoubleTree Hotel.
June 30 – “Zoolander” is screening for $10 in Brentwood at Paul Revere Charter Middle School. Aquarium Drunkard presents The Orwells will play at 7pm. Free parking is available on site. Fatburger, Steel City Sandwich, Shrimp Pimp, Border Grill Truck, Butter Milk Truck, Vizzi. Jogasaki Burrito and the Nom Nom Truck will be on site.
Cinema on the Street
Downtown Santa Monica started an annual outdoor movie screening series last year screening at the Third Street Promenade. Movies play weekly on Fridays in July between Wilshire Boulevard and Arizona Avenue, just outside of Chipotle. Bring a blanket or low lawn chairs! The films begin at about 7:30pm, depending on the time of sunset. Attendance is free, and parking is available in structures 1-9 in Downtown Santa Monica. Cars entering after 6pm pay a $5 flat rate. July 13 – “Ghostbusters”
July 20 –“Rio” (3D)
July 27 –“The Artist”
